No Physician-Patient Relationship

Although Mark Spretnjak has earned a medical degree and uses the professional designation MD, participation in coaching does not establish a physician-patient relationship. Dr. Mark is not acting as your treating physician through this website or coaching service.

The use of the terms “Dr. Mark,” “MD,” “medical,” “medicine,” or references to medical education describes Mark Spretnjak’s educational background and credentials. It should not be interpreted as establishing a physician-patient relationship or representing that medical services are being provided through this coaching service.

No Diagnosis or Prescription

Dr. Mark does not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medications, provide emergency medical services, or replace the care of your physician or other licensed healthcare professionals through this coaching service.

Information discussed during coaching should not be interpreted as an individual medical diagnosis, prescription, or medical treatment plan.

Do not start, stop, or change prescription medication or medically necessary treatment based solely on information provided through this website or coaching.

Medical Evaluation Comes First

Persistent pain can have many causes, including conditions that require medical investigation and treatment.

Coaching should not be used to assume that pain is neuroplastic, nociplastic, psychological, or otherwise non-structural without appropriate medical evaluation.

Clients are encouraged to maintain an appropriate relationship with their own physician and other healthcare professionals.

Dr. Mark may recommend that a client obtain further medical evaluation before beginning or continuing coaching when symptoms or circumstances warrant it.

New or Changing Symptoms

Do not delay seeking medical care because of something you have read on this website, viewed on Dr. Mark’s social-media channels, or discussed during coaching.

If you believe you may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

New, severe, progressive, or unexplained symptoms should be evaluated by an appropriately licensed healthcare professional.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy and Mind-Body Approaches

Pain Reprocessing Therapy and other mind-body approaches may be useful for some people experiencing persistent pain, but no particular outcome can be guaranteed.

Not all persistent pain is primarily neuroplastic or nociplastic, and these approaches are not appropriate substitutes for medical evaluation when disease, injury, or another medical condition may be responsible for symptoms.

Information about the brain, nervous system, pain, emotions, behavior, or stress should not be interpreted as suggesting that a person’s symptoms are imaginary or “all in their head.”

Pain is real regardless of the mechanisms contributing to it.

Information concerning food, nutrition, vitamins, minerals, or dietary supplements is provided for general educational and coaching purposes.

Individual needs can vary considerably, and supplements can have side effects, interact with medications, or be inappropriate for certain medical conditions, during pregnancy, or in other circumstances.

Discussion of a particular food, supplement, nutrient, dose, or lifestyle practice does not constitute a prescription or guarantee that it is appropriate for you.

Questions involving deficiencies, medical conditions, medications, significant dietary changes, or starting or stopping supplements should be discussed with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
